In a final effort to revitalize the Gaming forum, I create this based on the fact that I just got Rock Band 2 for Wii last week.
The Wii version is just as good as the others, though there's not as much downloadable content yet. Still, it's a great game and I've enjoyed playing it...
Thing is, I've only gotten into half of the game. I only have one guitar controller and thus I've only done guitar and bass. Now, I'm not even really sure if anyone else here even has the game for ANY system, but I figure this thread's worth a shot anyway, even after my Warriors Orochi thread fell flat.
Anyway, I'm planning on grabbing a mic for the game this weekend, and seeing about getting some more points for downloads.
So. To make this thread not just a "I'm doing this in this game =)" thread...
Does anyone actually own Rock Band 1 or 2, or the Guitar Hero games (Which, to be honest, most people think that series has gone to shit since Activision took it over >_>)?

I have Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2 on 360 (I also have the songs from RB1 from a friend's copy).

I'd make a thread myself, but they always die with 1 post and everyone hates the DRM on Mass Effect anyways.
I've never actually played a Guitar Hero/Rock Band game. Is it fun, and easy to get into?

If you start on Easy, it's really quick to get into. I moved up to Medium after only about 2 days, though I am a music student so that may have helped a little. Still trying to go up to Hard, adding the 5th fret throws me off and I've tried a few different tactics for it already.
Anyway, once you figure it out it's a blast. Playing songs that you actually know is a lot of fun, though RB2's setlist sometimes leaves a little bit to be desired.

Hmm. I'll have to try and get it if I ever get a console. Sounds like fun.

Due to the curse of the Starbird family, playing anything past medium on Guitar is nearly impossible (you see, I come from a long line of men who have short stubby fingers)
and due to the 2nd curse, singing is not our forte either...
we do rock at Rhythm though... the first time I picked up a drumstick, I ate it...
....
....
um... well, that chicken never saw it coming... but anyway, drums are the strong point with me... I can always get the beat down... I first played RB2 at Wal-Mart during a demo... I played drums on medium and got 99% (or around that number anyway)... the guy watching me asked if I had any drum experience (which I do not). he challenged me to try the same song on hard, which I did... not much worse, 95%... totally floored the guy with amazement...
kind of a shame that the thing I am best at in life is a game... >_<

Well, I've been moving up on guitar, playing Expert level on some of the easier songs. I haven't done much singing lately, and I wish I owned the drums because I'd have such a blast with them.
Ah well, at least they finally released some good stuff for download. Like Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood album.
