So... I've finally started learning to draw... and stuff... I dunno bout the first batch. Right now I'm using other people's art and trying to copy it so I can get a feel for things. www.noneedforbushido.com/archive.php Bottom left frame was my first attempt, I tried to copy this one by eye feature for feature... it didn't turn out that badly, but I wasn't liking how long it took me to do it, and wasn't thinking artistically so figured I wouldn't improve that way. So when I copied alyx-sama.deviantart.com/art/Crystallis-Comic-style-86045438I did it a bit differently, sort of... using the image as a base, and trying to make mine look like it without being mathmatical about it... it turned out... interesting... yes... interesting. Next I used alyx-sama.deviantart.com/art/Alyx-comic-style-86045621Same thing as the Crystallis one, because I definately need practice doing that... I hate the nose most of all.

Also... I somehow made Crystallis look like the guy from Labyrinth. This amuses me for some reason, especially considering the image I based it on was a womanly Crystallis.

well you are starting about it the right way, the best artistic lessons I got was from watching my friends draw and trying out their techniques and transforming them into my own. you may want to get some 'how to draw anime' books or some cool coloring books and trace off of those, and try tweaking some of the things, granted you can't claim the works as original, but they will help you get down the basic human body and you can build from there. ^^;; good luck!

So... for this page I tried drawing without models, the results were... dissapointing. I haven't broken the cartoony style I learned to draw with when I was a kid. Although the practice on the other styles made my cartoony stuff look a bit better >_>. I dunno what to do from here...

from what I learned if you pick one subject to draw (I made my own race to draw) If you keep drawing it you'll get better gradually. ^^;

I agree with Verna ^^ You're doing just fine Vid. Don't get discouraged. It takes one years to master their own style. I'm still working on my own even now.
You're on the right track :3 We believe in you!

This was truly an epic battle of epic proportions, After tackling eyes and ears, and coming out victorious, I was feeling pretty good and let my guard down for hair's sneak attack. With half my health gone the first round, it was a grudge match against hair, requiring new tactics, like the insertion of a face to help me flank, and I think it ended up as sort of a draw in the end...

That actually looks quite good... you seem to have made an impressive amount of progress in such a short span of time.

So... praticing drawing heads, and the way the eyes mouth ears nose and hair shift when the position changes. And than at the bottom I drew , & Some of these were done before I attacked hair, and that was the main reason I attacked hair >_>.
