We simply don't have enough people to run something on the scale of the global roleplay.
I could set up a forum roleplay based on the General setting of the hideout comic though. Give me a approval and I'll have the basic system set up in no time.
It'll still require people though.

...
We've done it before. I say GRP. Besides, I don't want to do something based of the hideout COMIC, I want to do something based off the HIDEOUT
Honestly, it doesn't need to be that, either. Just a malleable, nice little roleplay. Everyone enters through various portals into a jungle, and the world evolves, depending on storylines. Perhaps wide plains? A desert? That's what we should do. That's the kind of feeling the GRP had. We should also try to keep the storylines low scale and a limit on how many are run at a time. Micro storylines (Going to get a new hat) might not be limited, but initally, there should be no storylines except for exploration and meeting new people. We'd need a 'Jungle Map' with starting locations, but'd be an excelent way to get that feel while keeping it low scale. It'd allow the people to make their own destinies...
Eh?

It would be extremely boring.

You could start it off with a larger plot premise, like the hideout needs food because of famine. In fact, I kind of like that. Here's a sample plot that might explain why the hell hideout people are all hanging around some new planet.
Adviser: "Additional supply depots required."
Crys: "Dammit. Okay, make some more fertilizer for the fields."
Adviser: "Not enough minerals. We also have insufficient vespene gas, just to let you know."
Crys: "Dammit, what to do... I HAVE A PLAN."
Adviser: "Nuclear launch detected."
Crys: "No! I swear, it's a GOOD plan! Have a look: 1. Send some "volunteers" to a new planet. 2. Loot it. 3. ?? ?? 4. Profit! It's perfect!"

Like I said, We don't have the people to support any long term endeavors with no structured plot like that.
The hideout club idea would be basically an odd jobs type organization centered in the hideout and various hideout members could submit "missions" They'd be able to roleplay a few select characters all the time, and the person in charge of each of the missions would roleplay temp characters for those missions. Can even bring temp characters back for future missions. Preferably most of these missions would be offworld. Gives you the element of the unknown and new, without requiring you to maintain the setting as you can ditch it once the mission ends. I'd be willing to spit off 3 missions at a time, if alyx and Crystallis were to run even 1 at a time that'd be plenty for the members of the board we have now.
If it ever becomes more active, we can expand it to a more worldlike system.

Sounds like a good idea. I like it. Anyone else up for Vid's idea? A full-scale GRP like before might be too ambitious. Having a semi-consistent universe to have individual RPs in might be the best we can do... and since people can reuse characters again and again, it should be pretty easy to continue once started.

It'd still run a lot like the global roleplay, since you could have various threads for the Hideout club hq itself, and Individual threads for each of the missions underway.

I don't know... I will admit, it sounds good, but I still think I'd like Alyx's idea better. If she thinks your way is better, then I'll change my vote. Still, I'd prefer something that you explored and talked and made alliances on your own, rather than scrolling through a list, clicking on a mission, and when your done a little thing pops up that says 'Mission Complete!' and you zap back to the base.
GRP vs Mission Based Adventures... That's the question

GRP.
I'm working on the world if people would give stuff they want the world to have.

thanks for your open minded-ness You're trying to make a controlled global roleplay that still somehow works like the global roleplay, only with half the starting player base the global roleplay had, of course I'm not going to be enthusiastic about it. You haven't fixed the problems that caused me to abandon the original global roleplay in the end. Also, one of the best things about the global roleplay was that we could use our persona characters in it, and mesh all of our universes together. That's not happening in your roleplay is it? I don't see why we can't try and run both ideas and see what happens though, could have them go parallel even if you go with Warlock's suggestion.

Uh I'm asking what you want in it I never said you cou;dn't add stuff later etc, but if you are coming to a new place your stuff isn't just going to be there. If later after doing whatever you're all I wanna build this and do this, you can. I don't control your character. I just want a base. Whatever happens to it afterwards is fine.
