Okay. If we were to have a grp what would we want?
The hideout pre everything else? THe hideout in the future? The hideout now? SOmething completely different? A mapped out world? A newly discovered world that will grow as we do kinda like the hideout when we first started? A CHICKEN?

A CHICKEN!
...wait, what? No! How would that even work?
...
Anyway, I think something new is the way to go. I think attempts to revive the old GRP, at any stage, is prone to many, many problems.
I like the idea of a newly discovered world that will grow. I'm thinking more of a full-sized world, though, rather than a quasi-plane, so it has more room to grow. It will naturally expand as the characters grow more powerful and seek adventures further and further from home.

I don't really care where or when the "Super Special Awesome New Next Generation GRP Ultra Max Edition" starts, but I do prefer lower-level kind of stuff. Thinking up new ridiculously overpowered beings to fight has to be taxing, even for Vid. I really think the scope of the game and the plot in particular need to be narrowed somewhat. For the GRP/NGRP, Crys and others created a rich fantasy world rich in detail, with lords and power struggles and gangs and Alyx is pregnant and doesn't know who the father is. Just to keep up with all that crap and be part of the plot, you needed several NPCs, and if you wanted to actually move this massive, all-consuming plot along, you needed an ARMY of NPCs. Too much happening at once, basically.
Not to say it wasn't interesting how people worked their own ideas for stories into the GRP framework, but the number of side-plots going at once needs to have some sort of limit. If people have to create a new NPC (or use an unoccupied one, if they have a lot) for every new side-plot that goes on since their main GRP character can't be everywhere at once, the side-plot might as well just be a whole new RP with its own setting.
While I don't think the SSANNGGRPUME needs to be totally structured, I am more on Vid's side here. The GRP is not like other RPs due to the lack of a central game master, and building a definite framework should help combat its tendency to become bloated and unwieldy, and make it more unique as a RP. But however well-planned the structure is, if it becomes too difficult to understand (or just seems like too much work), people won't want to join. I am in favor of having a map.
Lastly, the GRP has become too much of a Serious Business. This trend must be stopped before it is too late.
Oh, and "SSANNGGRPUME" (Super Special Awesome New Next Generation Global Role Play Ultra Max Edition) should totally be the new name and acronym.

Yeah that'd work.
I'd probobly have someone who looks just like WhiteInferno (cough lazy cough) but with a bit better roleplay. Also, he would have more along the lines of leather mail at first. He'd still have a katana. He'd also have basic fire magic, though more along the lines of starting a camp fire and small fireballs. Also he has basic light magic. Though that is mostly a small ball of light he can move around a bit.
That'd work, unless its more of a sci-fi kind of thing

Alright. A new world, do we want a main plot going?
I'm not suggesting that we get rid of subplots, in no way am I suggesting that. But we could have a main plot to start with and then slowly have people work their sidplots in and have different threads etc.
Also we could limit the number of characters people are allowed to have active at once. Active would be defined as taking an active part in the roleplay. It will allow you if you get tired of a character or want a character to go off on a adventure alone to let them 'leave' and bring in someone new and then eventually bring them back.
Letting people leave with their characters for a while would be nice as people could write a story of their adventures and explain how they recieved an item, new poewers etc, but isn't nessicary.
I think I main plot would be nice as it would give direction to the roleplay and help it not grow to powerful to fast.

We used to have a character limit in the GRP, but since it got implemented mid-GRP it only caused problems.
A character limit should work well if it's imposed from the beginning. We'd have to let either all people (or a few designated people) control lesser, random NPCs, though, as there would be no GM to fulfill this task if it was like the old GRP (which seems to be the goal, as that is a large part of what made the GRP different).
I think that, since we are dealing with essentially everyone as a GM, we should consult more for the main plot (what the GRP Plot Discussion Board was intended for but never really happened). Also, any sub-plot that's going to have major consequences for the world should probably be given a thumbs-up or something before the go-ahead.

I think a main GM at the beginning would be fine. part of the world will be set from the beginning, and then people can add on etc. I think there should always be a gm running a main plot while smaller plots can run by themselves etc. The gm can have the NPC's etc and can work plot twists and make a nice plot.
Any other thoughts etc?
What should this world have? I'm making a map, I want to know what it must have.

You and your foolish optimism.
It hasn't returned YET, White. I'll believe it when I see it and it sticks around for a while.
